Visits and Payment
How payment works
1
Care at Rising Tide is provided on a self-pay basis, and visits are paid for at the time they take place.
After your visit, you may receive a receipt for your records. This keeps the process straightforward and avoids surprises related to delayed billing or adjustments.

Insurance and superbills
2
Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits for physical therapy. For patients whose plans include this coverage, a detailed receipt (often called a “superbill”) can be provided upon request for submission to insurance.
Rising Tide does not bill insurance directly. Reimbursement, when available, depends on the specifics of your individual plan and is not guaranteed. Coverage, eligibility, and reimbursement amounts vary widely, and patients are responsible for confirming benefits directly with their insurance provider.
Medicare

Questions are welcome
Medicare has specific rules about when physical therapy services can be provided on a self-pay basis. Because of these regulations, Rising Tide is not able to provide all services to Medicare beneficiaries.
In some cases, care may still be appropriate depending on the type of service being provided. If you are covered by Medicare and are unsure whether care at Rising Tide may be a fit for your situation, you’re encouraged to reach out so this can be discussed before scheduling.
If you’re unsure how any of this applies to you, or if you’d like to talk through your situation before scheduling, questions are always welcome. There is no expectation that you have everything figured out before reaching out.
